OCB Green Mountain Thaw Recap!
So it is two days after my first ever bikini competition. It was a long tiring process to say the least.
My weekend was very busy, and went as follows:
Friday 3/14:
I spent the morning relaxing and packing all of my stuff. I Got a text to fill in a shift at work so I ended up bartending 3-6. Which was no problem and good for me to get out of the house and stop thinking about food. After that I went to the gym with the “man friend” and he helped me perfect my posing. Then it was home to rest up.
Saturday 3/15:
Woke up and showered/ exfoliated/ shaved my body. Then with some help I applied one coat of Pro Tan. After that we went to our favorite cafe in town, KB’s. I got some egg whites over lettuce and tomatoes with jalapenos and black coffee. Honestly a very yummy combo. But watching Tom (man friend) eat his bagel was pretty hard at that point, it looked amazing.
We went back home for another coat of tan and then it was off to run errands.
I needed to get a few last things at the mall for my comp. I needed jewelry and had an appointment at Sephora so they could match products to my dark skin tone. They showed me how to apply stuff and I got a few things while there. I had never had makeup done before so it was really fun to have it applied. About as close to being pappered as I have been in a long time.
Also on the list of items to get:
silky Robe, Fake nails, spray glue (to stick my bikini to my butt), rice cakes and peanut butter at trader joes, and flipflops for walking around.
We spent forever at the mall and I was starving when we left.
When we got home I had a chicken, veggie, egg white omelette and a rice cake. Then I did another tan coating and off to bed.
Sunday 3/16 SHOW DAY
We woke up at 3 so I could do my makeup and have Tom do another tan coat. We had to get up so early because we needed to be in Brattleboro VT by 8 am….and it was a 2.5 hour trip.
After makeup was applied and hair straightened I tossed on some loose ass kickin’ pants (aka Adidas track pants) and a super fluffy xl hoodie. Then it was road trip time.
We got there around 730 and grabbed a coffee before we went into the theater. It was a very cold day and I felt like I was way under dressed even inside the place.
Around 8 am I had to do my polygraph test which really wasn’t too bad. It makes a lot of people nervous but I for some reason was not. They ask 7 questions over again in different order for about five minutes. Then I was done. By this time many competitors were filing in. I started to get anxious because I needed to change and get ready. I also noticed that I was super white compared to the other athletes. So I grabbed Tom and we found an empty room back stage and he did another coat of Pro Tan. I did some posing and fixed my makeup, ate another ricecake, and was off to relax.
….Just kidding
As soon as I got to my seats downstairs they needed all competitors to attend the meeting. So they explained how the show would run and guess what? I was in the first group to go. So I ran backstage and waited in a line to go out. I wasn’t nervous since this was the comparison round and I was up there with about ten girls. We posed for maybe ten minutes then walked off stage. Not too bad and it really was fun actually. Then bikini girls were finished until the later show. Next was figure and bodybuilding. So me and Tom decided to walk around the town.
We ended up coming back just in time for the later show and I rushed and ran around trying to get ready. I had about five minutes to fix makeup and glue my bikini on. Next time I’ll try to cut my wandering around in half. I was number 23 so I had a little wait before I went on to do my T walk (they went numerically). I had the best intro thanks to Tom. It went something like this:
“Here is competitor number 23, Adina Beaudry, coming from Hampton NH. She is a full time student, bartender, marketer, blogger and baker. She also is a Mixed Martial Artist studying Muay Thai, Boxing, and grappling. She is a professional baddass and apparently Adina means ‘dangerous’ in English.” …..Thank you Tom hah.
My T walk was a blur but it was fun. Then I was done. Everyone else went and did their routines and then it was awards. I didn’t place but this show was just practice to get the jitters out. My next show is OCB Spirit of America. Four weeks to add some glutes and shoulders and drop more fat.
Boom!
