Powerliftng Meet summary
I finally entered and completed my first ever powerlifting meet! It was December 27th and in Peabody MA. It was at a small odd gym but was a good beginner experience and I am glad I went
I did not do that well since I was in the beginning of a cold and injured myself a week prior. So I was much weaker on my lifts. I weighed in at my lowest weight in weeks at 118….I barely ate the day barely and day of.
I did push pull,mean that I only did bench and deadlift. For each lift you get three attempts to pull your max. Well in the gym my mas bench is 135, and deadlift max is 245. My first attempt at bench was 120 and I got that fine, then for my second was 125 but my butt came off the bench. Then it was 130 and I didn’t wait for the judges command. I was very very angry let me tell you!
For deadlift I started at 215, which is normally easy for me to do, but I felt very weak doing it and in a lot of pain. My second attempt was 220 and I couldn’t do it. I must have pulled my groin because it hurt way to much to walk even after trying. So in my pain and bitter mood after failing at lifting a normally easy weight, I went and sat alone in a corner. Then some nice man came over to talk to me and helped me not worry as much. So I did my third attempt at 220 again and got it. But I still didn’t win. Came in 2nd out of two people. Hopefully next time I have fully recovered and do not get sick day before. But I still am happy I finally did it!
